Answering the Call

After many bright and beautiful weeks, the weather has taken a noticeable change. I am writing this post curled up in bed whilst watching the rain fall heavily onto the grateful green plants below.

Tomorrow is the 1st of May, and marks the festival of Beltane in the Northern Hemisphere. This festival is rooted in several cultures and is one of the 8 seasonal festivals of the year, also known as the ‘Wheel of the Year.’  Beltane falls mid-way between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice, and in ancient times was celebrated due to its agricultural significance.  At Beltane we can observe the earth at its fertile peak. The light continues to expand, growth is abundant and life is blooming and buzzing with life force.

This time of year is often thought to be fruitful for setting intentions and energising outward goals and dreams. However this year, my soul was calling for something different, and I decided to answer its call. And so I ran myself a day time bath, anointed myself with a homemade face mask and then enjoyed a hot chocolate in bed whilst I read my book and listening to the rain. It feels like a fitting tribute for such a day.

What is your soul calling for today?

He had been distant for a few months prior to his announcement, but I had put it down to some big life changes that he had been going through. To me, we had built a relationship that felt strong, loving and honest, so I was shook to my core as I watched him pack up his half of our life into boxes around me. He left 3 days later. Self Care and Me

You can’t pour from an empty cup, or continue to make withdrawals once you have reached your overdraft limit. And yet it is familiar for us humans to keep giving despite the fact that we may be desperately in need of some TLC ourselves.
